Why Volunteer with the ID Assist Team?
For many of our neighbors, something as simple as a state-issued photo ID, a Social Security card, or a birth certificate can be the difference between moving forward or staying stuck. Without these documents, people cannot apply for jobs, secure housing, access healthcare, or enroll in critical services. By volunteering with the ID Assist Team, you’ll be helping to remove one of the biggest barriers faced by individuals experiencing homelessness or financial insecurity.

As a volunteer, you’ll sit alongside someone who may have felt invisible for years and guide them through the steps of reclaiming their identity. It’s not just about filling out forms — it’s about restoring dignity, empowering people to take the next step, and offering encouragement in a moment that can change a life. When a neighbor holds up their new ID and says, “Now, I’m a real person again,” you’ll know you were part of something transformative.
