Milford Advocacy for the Homeless (MAH) is excited to share that our Pathways to Employment initiative has been awarded funding through the Delaware Community Foundation’s June J. and Russell W. Peterson Fund for Social Justice. This support strengthens a core part of our mission: helping individuals experiencing homelessness overcome the barriers that stand between them and stable employment.

For many of our neighbors, the first steps toward work are also the hardest. Pathways to Employment focuses on these early, practical needs — ID recovery, job applications, transportation support, work clothing, safety gear, and access to meals, showers, and laundry. Through MAH’s Journey Partner model, participants receive one‑on‑one guidance that helps them build confidence, prepare for interviews, and stay connected to opportunities.

The Peterson Fund’s investment recognizes the dignity of work and the importance of equitable access to employment. With this grant, MAH will continue expanding early-employment stabilization services across Kent and Sussex Counties, ensuring that every participant has the tools and encouragement to move forward.
