As temperatures drop and costs continue to rise, many of our neighbors are facing difficult choices: heat or groceries, gas or warm clothing. With the ongoing government shutdown and increased cost of living, more individuals and families are feeling the strain of economic uncertainty.
At Milford Advocacy for the Homeless (MAH), we know that behind every number is a real person — someone who deserves dignity, compassion, and hope. This winter, we’re standing ready to help meet the growing needs of our community through our food, clothing, and meal support programs.
Meeting Hunger with Hope
No one should have to go to bed hungry. Through our Food Blessing Box Program, Bounty to Blessing Food Recovery Initiative, and Community Dinners, we’re providing consistent nourishment and comfort to individuals and families facing food insecurity.
- The Food Blessing Box Program helps bridge the gap for those waiting to be connected with local pantries and food banks, offering four weeks of guided food assistance and support.
- Bounty to Blessing rescues surplus food from local restaurants and partners, ensuring that good food never goes to waste and that our neighbors have what they need to stay nourished.
- Nightly Dinners offer warm, ready-to-eat meals served with care and compassion to those without access to kitchen facilities or steady food sources. These dinners not only provide nourishment but also a sense of community and belonging on even the coldest nights.
Together, these programs are helping to fill the shelves, and hearts of those who might otherwise go without.
Bringing Warmth to Cold Days
This winter, we are collecting and distributing hats, gloves, scarves, hand warmers, sweaters, coats, and jackets to help people stay warm and safe during the cold months. These essential items are more than clothing — they are reminders that our community cares.
Donations can be dropped off at our designated Milford drop-off locations, where every item goes directly to someone in need. Whether it’s a gently used coat or a new pair of gloves, your contribution brings comfort and dignity to someone facing the harsh reality of winter without shelter or resources.
Standing Together Through Uncertain Times
The rising cost of essentials is making life harder for many ,including those who have never needed help before. MAH is here to ensure that no one is left behind. We work every day to meet people where they are and walk alongside them as they rebuild their lives.
This winter, we invite you to join us in service. Whether by donating food, warm clothing, or your time, you can make a difference today. Together, we can keep our community warm, fed, and cared for one act of kindness at a time.
